【摘要】:Thispracticeisintendedtoprovideguidanceontheproperoperationofpressurewater-jetcleaningandcuttingequipment.Thispracticeisalsoapplicableatlowerpressureswherethereisforeseeableriskofinjury.Thispracticeisprovidedtoassistpersonsunfamiliarwiththeoperationofwater-jetcleaningandcuttingequipmentinlearningtocorrectlyusetheequipment.Correctoperationanduseofthepressurewater-jetcleaningandcuttingequipmentistheresponsibilityoftheoperatorandemployer.Aftertheoperatorhasfamiliarizedhimselfwiththeidentificationofpressuremetalfittings,hoses,guns,andaccessoriesinaccordancewiththeoriginalequipmentmanufacturer''sspecifications,instructions,andprogrammedinstructionalmaterial,hydrojettingmaybegin.Modificationofwater-jettingequipmentshallnotbedonewithoutpriorwrittenapprovalbythemanufactureroftheequipment.Employeesshallbeinstructedintherecognitionandavoidanceofunsafeconditions.Note28212;Warning:Seriousharmorinjurymayresultfromthemisuseofwater-jettingequipmentandtheuseofimproperfittings,hoses,orattachments.Theuseofpressurewater-jetequipmentforcuttingandcleaningisarapidlyevolvingtechnology.Thispracticewillbeperiodicallyreviewedforanyrequiredchangesatleasteveryfiveyears.^SCOPE:1.1Thispracticecoversthepersonnelrequirements,operatortraining,operatingprocedures,andrecommendedequipmentperformance/designfortheproperoperationofalltypesofpressurewater-jetcleaningandcuttingequipmentasnormallyusedbyindustriesconcernedwithconstruction,maintenance,repair,cleaning,cutting,anddemolitionwork.1.2Thetermhigh-pressurewaterjettingcoversallwaterjetting,includingtheuseofadditivesorabrasivesatpressuresabove100.5psig(0.69MPa).1.3Anypersonrequiredtooperateormaintainpressurewater-jettingequipmentshallhavebeentrainedandhavedemonstratedtheabilityandknowledgetodosoinaccordancewiththeoriginalequipmentmanufacturer''sinstructions,specifications,andtrainingprograms.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SeeNotes1-8andSections8and11forspecifichazardsstatements.
