【摘要】:Theserequirementscoverfixedelectricductheaters,andremotecontrolassembliesforsuchequipment,ratedat600voltsorlesstobeemployedinordinarylocationsinaccordancewiththeNationalElectricalCode,ANSI/NFPA70.Theserequirementsdonotcoverfan-coilunits,centralheatingfurnaces,panelorcabletyperadiantheatingequipment,electricboilers,baseboardheaters,airheaters,noranyotherelectricheatingequipmentorapplianceswhicharecoveredinorasapartofseparate,individualrequirements.Ductheatersintendedforuseinahazardouslocationarejudgedonthebasisofitscompliancewiththerequirementsinthisstandard,togetherwiththerequirementsforhazardouslocationequipmentincludedinotherapplicablestandards.Ductheatersdesignedtobeconnectedtoair-ductsystemsareintendedforinstallationinaccordancewiththeStandardfortheInstallationofAirConditioningandVentilatingSystems,NFPA90A,andtheStandardfortheInstallationofWarmAirHeatingandAirConditioningSystems,NFPA90B.Theserequirementsapplytorelaysandotherauxiliarycontroldevicesthatmaybeprovidedaspartofaductheatertomakeitusablewithotherheatingorcoolingequipment,andareintendedtotakeintoaccounttheeffectsofoperatingtheductheaterinconjunctionwithorinproximitytosuchequipment.Aductheaterisaself-containedheaterdesignedtobeinstalledinthefieldintheairstreamofaductedsystem,externaltotheair-movingunit.Itisdesignedtobeinstalledinaductwhereanadequateflowofairfromaseparate,interlockedfanorblowersystemisprovided.Suchaheatermaybelocatedinthemainsupplyductofanairheatingsystem,orinoneofthebranchducts.Twoormoreductheatersmaybeinstalledinagroup(inproximitytooneanotherintheduct)iftestsindicateacceptableresultswhentheheatersareinstalledinaccordancewiththemanufacturer'sinstructions.Aductheaterintendedtobeemployedinconjunctionwithanothersourceofheatisjudgedonthebasisofitscompliancewiththerequirementsinthisstandard,andfurtherexaminationandteststodeterminewhetherornotthecombinationisacceptable.
